A Message Before a Brand
1 > 99 began with a message long before it became an apparel brand.
Don Scott—the creative name behind Don Scott Productions—started by writing and producing music, including patriotic and Christian songs. Through that music, he saw how a meaningful message could stay with someone long after the song ended.
A song might encourage someone, remind them of what they believe, or reach them at exactly the right moment.
That led to a simple question:
What if those messages could be carried into everyday life?
From that idea came apparel built around words worth remembering and sharing. The music and the clothing became two different ways of doing the same thing:
Sharing the message.
From a Song to the One
One of those songs is “Stubborn Love,” performed by Endless Hallelujah.
The song tells the story of the lost sheep from the sheep’s point of view—the one who wandered beyond the fence and wondered where he belonged. Even after getting lost, the sheep discovers that the Shepherd never stopped looking.
“Stubborn Love” became part of a larger Don Scott Productions project called The Parable Project,
featuring songs inspired by the parables of Jesus and the truth they still speak today.
1 > 99 grew from that same heart.
The music tells the story.
The apparel carries the message into everyday life.
The One Matters
At the heart of 1 > 99 is one of Don’s favorite passages of Scripture, Luke 15:4–6.
Jesus tells of a shepherd with one hundred sheep. When one wanders away, the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine and searches for the one until it is found.
There were still ninety-nine. But the shepherd knew one was missing. And that one mattered enough to go looking for.
The one matters.
It is easy to feel too far away, too different, too stubborn, too lost, or simply like one person among billions. But Jesus still seeks the one.
And sometimes… we are the one.
Wear the Message
1 > 99 exists to carry that message beyond a song, a church, or a Sunday morning and into everyday life.
Sometimes a shirt starts a conversation. Sometimes a few words encourage someone having a difficult day. Sometimes a design reminds another believer of something they already know but needed to hear again.
That is why the designs at 1 > 99 are meant to be more than decoration. They have something to say.
The hope is that people will wear these messages, share what they mean, and help carry them farther than Don ever could alone.
If It Reaches One
The goal behind 1 > 99 is simple: create meaningful apparel that points toward faith, hope, Scripture, and ultimately toward Jesus.
If one person sees a message, asks a question, hears the story, or begins to understand that Jesus has been looking for them too, then it mattered.
Because that is where this whole thing started: with the ninety-nine, with the one who wandered, and with a Shepherd who went looking.
